About — Arana United Futsal Club

Our History

Arana United Futsal Club was founded in 2015 by a group of passionate futsal players who saw the need for a dedicated futsal club in the Arana Hills and greater Brisbane northside region. What started as a single senior team competing in the Brisbane Futsal League has grown into one of Queensland's premier futsal clubs.

In 2019, the club expanded to include junior representative programs, and by 2021 had established pathways through to the F-League — Australia's national futsal competition. That same year, we were honoured to be named Futsal Club of the Year 2021 by Futsal Queensland.

Today, Arana United fields teams in senior men's, senior women's, juniors (U9–U19), and community competitions, with over 300 active players across all programs.

Founding Story

In early 2015, a group of friends who had been playing indoor soccer together for years decided they wanted something more — a club that would represent their local area and provide a genuine pathway for futsal players. Led by founding president Jamie Lanyon, they secured a training venue at Arana Hills Leisure Centre and registered Arana United Futsal Club with Futsal Queensland.

The first season saw just 18 players in a single team. Word spread quickly through the local Futsal community, and by the end of the first year the club had grown to three teams. The founding members' vision of a community-focused club with rep pathways was taking shape.
